The Kramer Bros. Foundry was founded in Dayton Ohio in 1895 by George H. Kramer together with his two brothers, Joseph and Henry. By the end of the 19th Century, the factory began reproducing copies of Designer European models of planters, accessories and cast-iron furniture, for commercial, residential and government use alike. Unfortunately, many of their works have long disappeared due to heavy weathering and destruction. These pair of planters however, was found in California where they were not exposed, like many others, to the harsh weather environment on the east coast and plains. Many of The Kramer Bros. fine decorative pieces were also exported around the world.
