TETARD FRERES

The Tétard Frères company emerged after Edmond Tétard took over the Orfèvrerie Hugo (founded 1851) in 1880. The firm was renown for the high quality silver objets d'art.

After Edmond's death in 1901, the company was run by his sons Henri, Jacques, and Georges and received the name Tetard Frères.

In 1919, Valérie Bizouard and Louis Tardy joined the Tétard company. Bizouard was director of the drafting office until 1936, Tardy his successor until 1959. Both created numerous designs for hollowware as well as flatware. The firm's steady ascent, putting it on level with Puiforcat around 1930, was entirely owing to the artistic talent of Jean Tétard , grandson of the company's founder Edmond Tétard
