Description:
A Superb Quality French 19th/20th Century Belle Époque Figural Gilt-Bronze and Molded-Glass Eight Light Plafonnier Chandelier, attributed to Baccarat, by French Bronzier Eugène Soleau - Stamped: E. Soleau, Paris. The circular body with acanthus and shrubs surmounted with eight masks of Aeolus or Eolus who was the ruler of the winds in Greek mythology, each holding a light bulb covered with beaded glass sleeves, fitted with eight frosted molded glass panels depicting frozen icicles. The top canopy in the form of a Royal Crown. The inside with six additional lights. The bronzier and fondeur Eugène Soleau was recorded at 127, rue de Turenne, Paris. Circa: Paris, 1900.
