Description:

A Very Fine French 19th Century Mahogany and Gilt-Bronze Mounted Marquetry Table Au Milleu, After a model by Jean-Henri Reisener, Circa: 1870. With a veined light green marble top above a frieze with vignettes of cherubs allegorical of the muses, and foliate mounts, with a drawer, on tapering legs of octagonal section applied with gilt-bronze beadings. This table is based on the original executed by Riesener for the Garde Meuble and now in the Petit Trianon. It is illustrated by Gérard Van der Kemp, Versailles.
